Jude Clarke was born in Portland, Maine in 1960. She was raised in upstate New York, where her father constructed scale model exhibits for the New York State Museum and, as a hobby, built musical instruments. In this environment, she grew fascinated with hand-tools and tiny mechanical parts.
Jude moved to Tucson in 1982 where she studied printmaking, sculpture, and metalwork. Since 1992, she has concentrated exclusively on her own metalwork and jewelry.
Jude’s work has evolved through international collaborations as well as national conferences and symposiums. She studied, worked and exhibited in Montreaux and Aarau Switzerland and traveled to Michoacan, Mexico to study the traditional metalworking techniques of that area.
Jude Clarke’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries through out the country.
