Stone-Setting Detail

The bench top and center shelf are 1 3/8" thick cherry butcherblock. Here you can see the hole that holds the engraving ball the stone-setter uses. The partial circle cutout provides arm support up close to the piece of jewelry being worked.

Cherry, cherry veneered panels, and baltic birch plywood. Cabinets are shellacked and waxed. Butcher-block surfaces are varnished.
